Longshore worker dies at Port of Tacoma

TACOMA, Wash. — The Port of Tacoma halted all operations Monday morning after a longshore worker died of natural causes at a port terminal.

Port spokeswoman Julie Collins told the Tacoma News Tribune that the man died at about 8 a.m. and the port will open again at 8 a.m. Tuesday.

The death is the second in less than two weeks at the Port of Tacoma. Another longshore worker died March 12 in an industrial accident while working atop a cargo crane at the Pierce County Terminal.
