PULLMAN, Wash. — Washington State University head football coach Mike Leach spent Father's Day tweeting about a doctored video of a 2014 speech President Barack Obama made to the European Union in Belgium.
Leach's original tweet referenced a video that isolated a statement in which Obama said, "ordinary men and women are too small-minded to govern their own affairs."
However, the video Leach tweeted leaves out the rest of Obama's statement in which he describes how that "alternate vision" threatens ideals that govern many countries in Europe and the United States. Click here to read the full text from Obama's speech.
Leach has since deleted his original tweet, but it can be seen in the screenshot below:

On Monday, Leach followed up on Twitter and acknowledged that the original video he tweeted was incomplete," and provided a link to the full text from Obama's speech.
This is the complete speech. I agree that the video was incomplete. However, I believe discussion on how much or how little power that our Gov should have is important......Remarks by the President in Address to European Youth: https://t.co/BnNzxyivyN

The series of tweets are not the first time Leach has entered the political conversation. In May 2016, Leach endorsed Donald Trump in his campaign for president at a rally in Spokane.
Leach became the head football coach at Washington State on Nov. 30, 2011. In his six years as a head coach, WSU has gone 38-38 overall, with a 26-28 record in Pac-12 play.
