The Washington State Patrol launched a new safety awareness campaign Friday morning.
It is aimed at tracking down hit-and-run suspects.
The public's help is needed in this campaign.
The State Patrol said more hit-and-run cases could be solved if people would remember to use their cellphones to get a picture of the suspect's license plate information.

The State Patrol also said that doing so is especially important in cases in which victims are hurt.
In 2017, King County had more than 3,000 reported hit-and-run cases.
And only 19 days into the New Year, officials have reported more than 150 cases in the county.
Law enforcement agencies emphasize safety, so state troopers said to only take a photo or get information when it is safe to do.
Another way in which a member of the public can help is by mounting a dashcam camera in their car.
Troopers said that type of technology is helpful when law enforcement can’t get to the scene right away.
