Woman shot by elderly man in Lake Stevens after argument

LAKE STEVENS, Wash. — A woman was shot by an elderly man in Lake Stevens Saturday after the two got into an argument.

The 71-year-old man and 49-year-old woman share an address; they purchased the property together.

The man was arrested last Wednesday for a previous act of violence against the woman and hadn't returned to the shared home since.

Police say the man shot the woman in her stomach. She was taken to Providence in Everett for treatment of her injuries.

The man has been detained by officers.
