Wind advisory in effect for east Puget Sound lowlands

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the east Puget Sound lowlands in King, Pierce and Snohomish counties.

KIRO 7 Meteorologist Nick Allard is live on air tracking where the winds will be the strongest and what time they will start to taper off, from 4:30 to 7 a.m.

Easterly winds of 15 to 30 mph with local gusts up to 45 mph are forecast until noon Monday, when the advisory expires. Winds will slowly ease Monday afternoon.

Some affected locations are North Bend, Enumclaw, Buckley, Gold Bar, and any location near the entrances to the passes.

Winds may be strong enough to down tree limbs, causing local power outages.

According to the National Weather Service:

A wind advisory means that winds of 35 mph are expected. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution while driving as tree limbs could fall on roadways. Power outages are possible where strongest winds develop.
