Who's raising more campaign funds for Seattle mayor?

SEATTLE — Jenny Durkan is leading the race for Seattle mayor when it comes to campaign funding.

In the past three weeks, Durkan has raised a total of $163,000 from 650 individuals which include current Seattle Councilmembers Sally Bagshaw and Tim Burgess who donated $500 each. Other notable Seattle residents who have pitched in for Durkan’s campaign include Ethan Stowell of Ethan Stowell Restaurants; and Louise Chernin, CEO of the Greater Seattle Business Association.

“I’m grateful for the grassroots support from my friends and neighbors who believe in our progressive agenda for Seattle,” Durkan said Monday. “…I look forward to continue meeting voters across the city to discuss my plans for our great city.”

According to the most recent records, the closest candidate to Durkan, financially, is Nikkita Oliver with the People’s Party. Like Durkan, Oliver also has garnered the support of 650 contributors, according to the City of Seattle. She’s raised a total of $46,698. Many of the donations range between $100 and $500.

While two of his colleagues have thrown in with Durkan, Councilmember Mike O’Brien has donated $250 to Oliver’s campaign.
