WATCH: Marshawn Lynch confirms retirement: 'I'm done'

Marshawn Lynch confirmed his retirement in a rare interview with "60 Minutes Sports."
 
"60 Minutes" released a video clip on Monday with Marshawn Lynch telling "60 Minutes Sports" correspondent and Sports Illustrated Executive Editor Jon Wertheim that he is done.

In this "60 Minutes" clip, the former Seahawks running back looked into the camera and said: "Which camera do you want me to look into? This one? I’m done. I’m not playing football anymore.”

“He lives his life the way he ran the football. It’s straight ahead; it’s blunt; I’m going to say what I want to say; I’m going to use the language I want to use. I suspect interviewing Marshawn Lynch isn’t altogether different from playing against him,” Wertheim said.

In the middle of Super Bowl 50, Beast Mode literally and figuratively hung up his cleats and walked away from football. 

But with Beast Mode retiring, no one totally ruled out the idea of Marshawn coming back in 2016.
 
Many have speculated that throughout the offseason Lynch was having second thoughts about his decision to retire.

The Seahawks placed Lynch on the reserve-retired list in May, meaning the team would retain his rights if Lynch decided to return.

The move by Seattle was a procedural step, but it was necessary to make Lynch's retirement official.

60 Minutes Sports spoke to both Lynch and his agent Doug Hendrickson. CBS Sports writes on its website, Hendrickson expects him to be finished but wouldn't rule it out completely.
