Video shows woman break into dealership, crash truck she tries to steal

Surveillance video captures the moments a Lewis County woman rams a pickup truck through a dealership’s garage door.

Chehalis police said Kimberly Terrell, 41, tried stealing not one, but two trucks, from the service center inside I-5 Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram Fiat in Chehalis.

“Holy crap, that’s ridiculous. Why would somebody want to do that?” said Vicky Musser.

Officers said Terrell broke into the dealership around 8 p.m. Friday and left behind extensive damage.

The front end of a customer’s truck was completely demolished and the garage door the suspect drove it through was also destroyed. On Wednesday, plywood boarded up the hole in the dealership.

Chehalis Police Department Public Information Officer Linda Bailey said Terrell also smashed the pickup truck into another car in the lot. She then tried stealing a second truck in the shop, but couldn’t get it off the lift.

“There’s a lot of hardworking folk here, and to damage someone’s car like that… I can’t even imagine the nightmare people are going to have to go through paperwork and stuff like that. Yeah, that’s not cool,” said Jeremy Williams.

Officers recognized Terrell in the video. They tracked her down Sunday and arrested her for burglary.

“She only made a comment when she was in contact with the officers that trucks had been trying to run her off the road and that was why she did it,” said Bailey.

The dealership’s owner, Heidi Pehl, told KIRO 7, “It’s a sad situation. I want to respect her privacy and our security.”

“If she’s capable of doing that, how much further until she’s pushed completely over the edge and causes harm to people?” said Williams.

Terrell is being held in the Lewis County jail on multiple charges, including attempted theft of a motor vehicle, second-degree burglary and malicious mischief.
