Two-alarm fire in Wallingford damages building under construction

SEATTLE — A building under construction was badly damaged in a two-alarm fire in Seattle’s Wallingford neighborhood Thursday morning.

It started around 6 a.m. at 1st Ave NE and N 45th Street, across from Dick’s Drive-In.

Seattle fire said a second alarm was called out to summon more resources because all four sides of the multi-story building were on fire.

No one was found inside and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
