State trooper sideswiped by suspected drunken driver

SHORELINE, Wash. — A State Patrol trooper's vehicle was struck as the trooper was investigating another collision.

The trooper was at the scene of a crash that happened shortly before 1:15 a.m. Friday on northbound I-5 at Northeast 145th Street in Shoreline when his cruiser was sideswiped by another vehicle at about 1:45 a.m.

The trooper was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle to be checked out.

The woman who was driving the car that sideswiped the cruiser was taken into custody for investigation of driving under the influence.
