SPS return to in-person learning at start of March likely delayed

There could possibly be a setback in Seattle Public Schools’ plans to have some students return to in-person learning beginning March 1.

Preschoolers, kindergartners and first-grader students were set to return to the classroom. However, Superintendent Denise Juneau announced at a meeting Thursday that a March 1 start was unlikely to happen.

Juneau said she anticipates students will return later in March.

The school district is negotiating with its staff about when students could return.
