SEATTLE — Detectives with the Seattle Police Department’s Gang Unit are investigating a shooting that injured an 18-year-old man Tuesday in the Pioneer Square neighborhood.
Police said the shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. near 3rd Avenue and Yesler Way.
Officers found the man on the sidewalk with injuries to his hand and calf. He was treated at the scene and taken to Harborview Medical Center for more treatment.
Police said a 64-year-old man said he might have been hit by shrapnel, but he was examined and did not require any treatment.
Drugs, a handgun and shell casings were also found at the scene. Police said the investigation remains ongoing.
