Seattle officer shoots dog after attack

SEATTLE — The Seattle Police Department says an officer shot a dog after it attacked a woman and her dog Thursday night.

The shooting happened in the 7900 block of Renton Avenue South.

Police said a 40-year-old woman was walking her leashed dog when a second dog ran up and attacked her and her dog, biting and injuring them both.

The owner ran after the off-leash dog and was bit and injured.

Two officers arrived at the scene, and one officer shot and killed the attacking dog.

The 40-year-old woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center and the other was treated at the scene. They both had non-life-threatening injuries.
