RENTON, Wash. — C.J. Prosise was back on the practice field Tuesday after missing the first two days of training camp with an illness. The Seahawks hope Tyler Lockett isn’t far behind him.

Lockett began camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list after he was unable to pass his physical, still not all the way back from the badly broken leg that ended the receiver’s 2016 season in December.

Coach Pete Carroll said Lockett worked out twice on Tuesday and that “he’d be proud to tell you that.” The Seahawks have an off day on Wednesday and resume practice on Thursday.

“He’s probably a couple days from coming back out and starting to run around,” Carroll said of Lockett.

Prosise took part in both team and individual drills on Tuesday then caught balls from a JUGS machine after practice, trying to make up for time he missed while he was out sick.

“He had a real bad stomach thing,” Carroll said. “Something he ate, it just didn’t sit well with him. The first day he was really sick and he was recovering yesterday and he got work today. So he’ll be back in. When we come back he’ll be full-go.”

More notes from Tuesday:

-Here's our news story on strong safety Kam Chancellor's contract extension, which includes video of Chancellor. Here's Danny O'Neil's take on it.

-Carroll said defensive lineman Malik McDowell has arrived in Seattle and will be evaluated by the Seahawks beginning some time Tuesday. That will be the team's first chance to see McDowell since he was injured in an ATV accident a few weeks ago. More from O'Neil on McDowell's situation here.

-The video posted below has Carroll’s comments on what he’s seen from free safety Earl Thomas, who’s practicing without any apparent limitation as he comes back from a broken leg that cut his 2016 season short.

-Blair Walsh has had two strong practices after a not-so-strong start to training camp on Sunday, when he missed two of the four kicks he attempted during team periods. He was 4 for 4 on Monday and 6 for 6 on Tuesday, by my count, hitting from between 33 and 49 yards out. Walsh's consistency in practice bears watching given his recent struggles.

-The Seahawks put on shoulder pads for the first time on Tuesday. They were unable to do so Sunday or Monday per league rules that prohibit hitting during the first two practices. After a collision on a running play during one of the team periods, a miffed Thomas Rawls had to be separated from second-year linebacker Kache Palacio. That figures to be the first of at least a few camp scuffles now that the pads are on and the intensity is ramped up.

-Jimmy Graham and Doug Baldwin both made spectacular catches on throws from Russell Wilson. Graham's was a juggling, falling grab of a ball he batted three times with one hand before hauling in. The Wilson-to-Graham connection was working nicely on Tuesday. They also hooked for a touchdown when Wilson threaded the needle to Graham up the seam, firing a pass with enough zip to get through tight coverage. Baldwin's catch was a leaping one-hander on a ball thrown behind him, which forced him to adjust mid-air. Not quite as incredible as this catch from Baldwin, but pretty good nonetheless.
