RENTON, Wash. — The Seahawks find themselves in a fight to make the playoffs again.

And things won't get any easier against the NFC-West leading Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll isn't sure whether Bobby Wagner and K.J. Wright will be ready to go at CenturyLink Field.

Wagner injured his hamstring last Sunday against Jacksonville and Wright left with a concussion.

"K.J. is in the [concussion] protocol and that's up to the doctors [to decide whether Wright can play on Sunday],” Carroll said. “Bobby is going all the way through the week, as he has the last couple weeks. We'll have to wait and see."

With concerns about whether Wagner and Wright are able to play, the Seahawks promoted linebacker Paul Dawson off their practice squad and placed offensive lineman Oday Aboushi on injured reserve to clear a spot.

"Dawson has been with us for a few weeks now. We've been training him,” Carroll said. “We just need the depth on the roster. He's a very instinctive player, he's played a lot of football, we've watched him through the college thing and all that and now that he's been with us long enough, we think that we can use him on special teams."

The 12s will  be watching to see if the Seahawks defense can slow down Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley. Not only is Gurley a factor as a receiver out of the backfield, he's also the NFL's third-leading rusher.

"Our defense is going to go out there and put a good game plan up, regardless of the fact that some guys are missing,” said Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin. “As tough as it is to say and to hear, it's the next man up.”

"You know, we better come with it [for this game against the Rams],” said Seahawks safety Earl Thomas. “We've got to be sharp. Our bodies [have] got to be right. We've got to be fresh. And, you know, we’ve got to [find a way to] fly on them and play good football."
