Local schools receive phone threats, lock down

Two local schools received anonymous phone threats Monday and subsequently went into lockdown.

Long Beach Elementary School in Long Beach, Washington, was locked down around noon.

By 12:30 p.m., the school had determined the threat was not credible. Officials said Long Beach Elementary School would remain in modified lockdown throughout the rest of the day as a precaution.

Students were to be released at their regular time.

On Monday afternoon, Sacajawea Middle School in Federal Way received a bomb threat by phone and evacuated as a precaution.

The threat was determined not credible after police swept the school, and students and staff then returned to the building.
