Repeat offender arrested for voyeurism at Burger King

A man with a long criminal history was arrested at an Auburn Burger King after he spied on a woman in a bathroom stall, police said.

When he was arrested, the repeat offender was found with a pocket knife, a rolled belt and multiple packages of condoms, investigators said.

Abdulrizak Isaac Yusuf, 33, went to the McDonald’s at 320 Auburn Way South, entered the women’s bathroom and took the stall next to the 21-year-old victim, according to court documents. Police said he then bent down and began looking up at the woman from the open space between the two stalls.

The woman told Yusuf to leave, which he did, and she then told store employees, according to court documents.

“When officers told him about the allegation, he said he was sorry and would not do it again,” a detective wrote in a probable cause document. “Yusuf said he was unaware that he entered the wrong bathroom, and did not answer officers when asked why he looked under the bathroom stall to the victim.”

In a 2017 case, Yusuf received a DOSA – a drug offender sentencing alternative instead of prison time. The Drug Offender Sentencing Alternative is meant to reduce the number of new offenses. But Yusuf, who has 38 arrests in the past decade, did not comply with terms and had his DOSA revoked last April, court documents show.

His criminal history includes robbery, theft, residential burglary and a 2018 conviction for indecent exposure. In that case, Yusuf stood outside a large glass window of a bar where he’d been trespassed, ejaculated in sight of others, then tried to grab a woman.

Yusuf was charged with first-degree voyeurism for the Burger King incident and remains in King County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bail.
