KENT, Wash. — Crowds gathered for a protest and counterprotest at the Kent Planned Parenthood at 10056 S 240th Street on Saturday.
The protest, called "Defund Planned Parenthood," hosted by Patriot Prayer and Joey Gibson, started around noon at the Planned Parenthood. The event page on Facebook said several speakers were lined up and a short march around the building was planned.
A counterprotest, organized by Greater Seattle IWW General Defense Committee Local 24, started around 11 a.m. at the Planned Parenthood.
KIRO 7's Alison Grande was at the event, where counterprotesters outnumbered protesters, for a report on KIRO 7 News at 5.
The counterprotest opposed the Joey Gibson rally, which organizers of the counterprotest called Gibson's way of showing off his crew's "penchant for violent misogyny."
