SEATTLE — Update: Officers with the Seattle Police Department have arrested a 22-year-old woman who stabbed a University District store clerk Tuesday night, authorities said.
Police said the woman was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of robbery and assault after she was located Thursday night.
Original story: Detectives with the Seattle Police Department are investigating after a store clerk was stabbed Tuesday night in the University District.
Officers responded to the stabbing in the 4700 block of University Way NE at about 9 p.m., officials said.
Police said when they arrived at the scene, they found the 23-year-old employee had been stabbed in the stomach and leg.
The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
Police said the man told them a woman had entered the store and was acting suspiciously.
She picked up several items and left the store without paying.

Authorities said the employee told them that he went after the woman and asked for the items back, and that’s when the woman began assaulting him.
The employee told police he was able to recover a few items. When he walked back to the store, he noticed he had been stabbed and called 911, officials said.
Police said they used a K-9 team to search for the woman but were unable to find her.
Officials described the suspect as white, 5 feet, 9 inches tall and in her 30s. She has a thin build and red marks on her face.
