Police seeking driver involved in fatal Grant County hit-and-run

Grant County Sheriff's investigators are asking for the public's help in identifying the driver of a vehicle they believe was involved in a hit-and-run last night that struck and killed a young man early Friday morning. The accident took place between Quincy and Ephrata.

First responders were called to the scene around 12:45 a.m. after a driver called 911 after finding a body in the roadway. The man was declared dead at the scene.

Investigators collected evidence from the scene that they believe will help identify the driver and also are gathering footage from local roadway cameras to help identify the vehicle.

"It's clear that the vehicle sustained front-end damage and that the driver likely felt, heard or saw the collision with the pedestrian and then fled the scene," said Sheriff Tom Jones. "We're asking the driver to come forward and speak with investigators."
