Police find suspect dead after shots fired in Delridge neighborhood

SEATTLE — Seattle police said they found a suspect who fired gunshots in the Delridge neighborhood dead after a search.

Officers were investigating a domestic violence call where shots were fired at at home in the 6500 block of 16th Avenue Southwest Friday morning.

No one was shot, but a woman involved in the incident was taken to the hospital.

After the shots were fired, the armed man fled the home. Video from Chopper 7 showed police going into a wooded area to search as well as multiple police cars at the scene.

South Seattle College was put into lockdown while police searched for the suspect at about 10:30 a.m.

Shortly after, SPD said the suspect was found in a greenbelt, dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The lockdown at the college has since been lifted.
