SEATTLE — Seattle police officers are investigating a shooting in the 5100 block of South Frontenac Street in South Seattle.
Police say a man shot a 60-year old woman and then killed himself just after 8 p.m. Saturday night.

The Seattle Fire Department confirmed to KIRO 7 the victim is a 60 year old with a gun shot wound to the lower body. Fire officials say the victim is in stable condition and is being transported to Harborview Medical Center.

Officers began treating the female victim upon arrival, and discovered the suspect inside the home with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police believe the suspect was the estranged husband of the victim.

The domestic violence unit will handle the investigation, and will provide updated information as soon as it becomes available.
The 5100 block of South Frontenac Street is two blocks north of the Othello Playground, and northeast of the Safeway located at 3900 S Othello St.
