Police recover stolen dog in Tukwila, reunite dog with loved one

Tukwila police located and returned a stolen dog to its owner yesterday.

Officers said the dog was reported stolen from outside of a restaurant on Baker Boulevard on the afternoon of March 13.

The dog's owner told police a man walked by her dog twice and grabbed the dog, unleashing him and taking off running, on his third pass by them.

Police were given a description of the suspect and photos of the dog; an officer with the Tukwila Police Department recognized the man and dog on Saturday, questioned the man and determined he was the suspect.

The dog's microchip confirmed the dog belonged to the woman who said he was stolen from her.

She confirmed to police that the man they caught was the man who stole the dog.

He's been booked for theft.
