Police: Man in custody after threatening to blow up Renton house

RENTON, Wash. — A neighborhood in Renton was evacuated after a suicidal man broke a gas main and threatened to blow up a house Wednesday night, officials with the King County Sheriff’s Office.

The man was taken into custody about 6:45 p.m.

The affected neighborhood is in the 17000 block of 136th Place SE, police said.

Officials said the suicidal man is in his 20s. His mother called 911 concerned about him. Gas was immediately shut off, officials said.
