Police: Montana homicide suspect taken into custody in Snohomish County

A Montana homicide suspect was taken into custody after a high-speed chase in Snohomish County early Thursday morning.

Police said after midnight, deputies attempted a traffic stop on a driver suspected of driving under the influence.

Investigators said the car accelerated and continued westbound on State Route 2 in Monroe and exited onto SR 9.
"The suspect continued to accelerate and slam on the brakes in an attempt to escape deputies," Sultan police said in a news release.

Deputies were able to perform a PIT maneuver on the suspect's vehicle, causing it to spin, go backward and crash into a semi.

The 27-year-old suspect got out of the vehicle and fled into a wooded area.

Police said a deputy used his Taser and got in a fight with the suspect.

"The 27-year-old suspect finally gave up, rolled onto his stomach and was taken into custody," investigators said.

The suspect was taken into custody and taken to Providence Regional Medical Center to be treated for his injuries.

He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail on suspicion of DUI, eluding a police vehicle, resisting arrest and being a fugitive from justice in regards to a felony homicide in Montana.
