SEATTLE — Detectives with the Seattle Police Department’s Traffic Collision Investigation Squad (TCIS) are investigating following a vehicle/pedestrian collision at N. 110th and Greenwood Avenue North Friday night.
N. 110th and Greenwood Avenue North is located east of Carkeek Park and west of Evergreen Washelli Cemetery.
Seattle Police said a 57-year-old female was driving northbound on Greenwood Avenue North around 6:30 p.m. Friday when “a 30-year-old male ran across the street either in or near the marked crosswalk, but against the ‘DO NOT WALK’ signal.”
Witnesses told Seattle Police the 30-year-old ran into the side of the moving vehicle and sustained “significant injuries.” The 30-year-old was later transported to Harborview Medical Center.
“The driver was evaluated at the scene by officers and showed signs of impairment and was processed for driving under the influence,” Seattle Police said in a blotter post.
The investigation remains ongoing and KIRO 7 will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
