Police investigating after two men shot, wounded in Capitol Hill on Saturday in separate incidents

Seattle police are investigating after two men were shot and wounded in Capitol Hill on Saturday in separate incidents.

The first shooting occurred at the intersection of Melrose Avenue and East Pine Street at 1:30 a.m.

Police responded to investigate reports of shots fired after witnesses reported hearing shots and seeing a green Ford Crown Victoria and black Chevrolet Tahoe speeding away from the intersection. Officers arrived and found several other vehicles that had been damaged by gunfire.

Police were later notified that a 24-year-old man had shown up at Harborview Medical Center with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the back of his head. The man refused to cooperate with police.

The second shooting occurred at Judkins Park at 7:45 p.m.

Witnesses called 911 to report a fight at the park. As officers responded, additional reports of shots fired at 24th Avenue and East Yesler Street came in. Police went to the scene and found a pool of blood but no victim.

Shortly after, a 25-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his shoulder came to Harborview Medical Center.

Gang unit detectives are continuing to investigate.
