SEATTLE — The man who police say was armed with a knife in downtown Seattle Tuesday was taken into custody around 4:30 p.m.
Officers responded Tuesday afternoon to a report of a man with a knife who was making threats near 3rd Avenue and University in downtown Seattle.
Officers negotiated with the armed man.
The man surrendered his knife and was safely taken into custody.

Several blocks were closed to the public.
There were no injuries reported.
