Pioneer Square crash closes SR 99 ramp for hours

A crash in Seattle’s Pioneer Square that involved a pedestrian closed traffic in the area for hours.

KIRO 7 Chopper flew over the scene at First Avenue and Columbia Street. At least three civilian vehicles were in the scene, but only one car showed serious damage on the hood.

The Columbia Street on-ramp to the southbound State Route 99 Viaduct was closed for several hours.

Drivers should use alternate routes. Route 62 is currently rerouted in both directions due to the crash. Follow King County Metro's Twitter account for information on this transit alert.  

Seattle police detectives are investigating the crash. One person was sent to Harborview Medical Center.
