One dead in overnight Pioneer Square shooting

One man is dead after an early morning shooting in a parking lot in Pioneer Square.

Seattle Police say they were monitoring bars closing in the area when they heard several shots fired at Occidental Ave South and South Washington Street just before 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police responding to the shots fired found a man lying in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to the head.

The man was transported to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries where he died, police said.

Seattle Police say the investigation is ongoing and anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call the Seattle Police violent crime tip line at (206) 233-5000.
