Seattle police arrested a teenager on Wednesday who is accused of robbing and burglarizing a homeowner on Ashworth Avenue North in Seattle.
The homeowner told investigators that she caught the burglar in her car after he stole numerous items from her home early Wednesday morning.
The woman ran outside to confront the suspect and grabbed a backpack he had stolen, police said.
She refused to let go as the suspect tried to get away on foot.
According to investigators, the suspect “dragged the victim on the ground” and then “knocked her down and kicked her in the head.”
The struggle stopped when the suspect eventually broke free from her grasp, but was arrested a short time later, after a neighbor called 911.
The 18-year-old has been booked in jail on robbery and burglary charges, police said.
The victim went to the hospital where she was treated for minor cuts and scratches.
