New details emerge after Arlington police shoot 17 year old girl armed with knife

Authorities are investigating after Arlington police shot a 17-year-old girl who was armed with a knife.

ARLINGTON, Wash. — Arlington police responded 5 a.m. Tuesday to a disturbance call in a parking lot near a coffee stand at East Division Street and North Olympic.

Today police said When officers arrived the 17 year-old female who was fighting with someone whom she was dating, fled and got into a car.
Police made contact with her again when witnesses said she advanced on them armed with a knife.
The interaction between the girl and the officers is still under investigation, but police said stun gun were deployed and ineffective.
The teen was shot by officers.
It's not yet clear what events led up to shooting. 
She was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition but today was upgraded to serious condition. 
KIRO 7 News talked to a man who said he's related to the girl. He said police could have used other options to deal with the situation.
No officers were injured.
The Snohomish County Multiple Agency Response Team, a team of detectives from various Snohomish County law enforcement agencies who investigate police use-of-force incidents, is investigating.
