PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — Multiple MultiCare buildings in Pierce County were evacuated after the health care agency received a call of a bomb threat on its crisis line Wednesday morning.
MultiCare’s Behavioral Health building in Puyallup, an office near Tacoma Mall and the Greater Lakes facility in Lakewood were all evacuated, Marce Edwards, executive director of corporate communications, said.
Police swept the buildings and no suspicious devices were found, authorities said.
KIRO 7 flew over a building after the evacuations and found officers working the scene.
Edwards said because the threat was not specific, MultiCare is working with police to investigate the threat.
The Tacoma Mall-area and Greater Lakes facilities returned to normal operation after it was deemed safe for people to go back inside, Edwards said.
The Puyallup location is still being inspected, and a K-9 was deployed to check it out.
We're tracking the investigation for KIRO 7 at noon.
