SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. — A motorcyclist is dead after colliding with a Jeep while rounding a curve on South Skagit Highway.

Sgt. Mark Francis, with the Washington State Patrol, said the 36-year-old man was riding westbound with a pack of riders just before 3 p.m. Sunday.

Francis said the motorcycle hit the Jeep while coming around a left curve and crossing the center line. The Jeep was eastbound.

The driver of the Jeep, a 26-year-old Sedro-Woolley man, and a passenger in the SUV were uninjured.

Authorities are investigating. It is unclear if drugs or alcohol were a factor.
