Mariners launch #SendSegura campaign for 2018 MLB All-Star Game

SEATTLE — Hoping to send a fourth player to the 2018 MLB All-Star Game in Washington, D.C., the Seattle Mariners have officially launched their #SendSegura campaign.

Despite ranking third in MLB in hitting with a .330 batting average (through games on July 8), Jean Segura was not named an All-Star when rosters were announced Sunday.

However, fans still have a chance to #SendSegura to D.C. via the MLB's Final Vote. Until 4 p.m. ET Wednesday, fans can cast their vote for one of five players from each league.

The highest vote-getter from each will be added to their respective team for the All-Star Game on July 17.

Joining Segura on the final ballot are Boston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintendi, Anaheim Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons; Minnesota Twins outfielder Eddie Rosario and New York Yankees outfielder Giancarlo Stanton.

Fans can vote online here, or you can vote via the MLB At Bat and MLB Ballpark mobile apps.

Fans who vote for Segura, and include the Seattle Mariners as their "Favorite Club", will be automatically entered for a chance to win two front row Diamond Club tickets to the Mariners game vs. the San Francisco Giants vs. July 25, 2018; a signed replica Jean Segura jersey; and a photo on the field with Jean Segura.
