Marine veteran honored at Belltown bar as if he never passed away

At a Meekong Bar in Belltown on Monday afternoon, someone bought a beer for Sidles.

A friend remembered veteran Dan Sidles at a Belltown bar as if he never passed away.

Dan Sidles was identified as a member of the Marines by people who served in the Marines.

On a memorial page, friends said he died April 26, though the specifics of his death are unknown.

Sidles appeared in a film selected for the Seattle Film Festival called "High Ground."

"High Ground" tells the story of 11 wounded veterans whose road to recovery takes them to one of the guardians of Everest - the 20,075-foot Himalayan peak known as Lobuche.

The film’s website says Sidles, one of the 11 veterans, was badly injured twice, earning a Purple Heart.
