Man arrested in Seattle middle school threats case

SEATTLE — Update: The Seattle Police Department said it has arrested Leonardo Riviera, who was suspected of making threats at a Seattle middle school on Monday morning.

Police said the 26-year-old claimed he had a knife and imitated a gun with his hand.

Law enforcement is investigating.

Original story: Police are looking for a man they say was making threats Monday morning at a Seattle middle school.

The man, 26-year-old Leonardo Riviera, walked up to Meany Middle School on Capitol Hill, claimed he had a knife and imitated a gun with his hand, police said.

Security officers at the school escorted him off the property. School staff members called the Seattle Police Department, which is now investigating.

Families with students there were notified.

Anyone with information on Riviera, pictured above and below, is asked to call 911 immediately.
