Man injured, 3 dogs killed in Summit house fire

PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — An early Sunday morning house fire in the Summit area of unincorporated Pierce County left one man injured and killed three dogs, officials with Central Pierce Fire and Rescue said.

Crews were called before 2 a.m. to the 4100 block of King Street East where they saw heavy smoke billowing in the air when they arrived.

Firefighters said they were able to put out the fire quickly.

There was no word on additional injuries or fatalities.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
