Man drowns in Black Diamond lake

BLACK DIAMOND, Wash. — A man, in his mid-30s to early 40s, drowned in a lake in Black Diamond, according to officials with Mountain View Fire and Rescue.

The man was reportedly with a group that was swimming at Lake Sawyer when he went under before 4 p.m. Wednesday.

When rescue crews arrived, they found the man and pulled him to shore and started lifesaving measures, but he died at the scene, officials said.

The drowning is under investigation.
