Man dies in stun gun confrontation at Fife casino hotel

FIFE, Wash. — A man at the Emerald Queen Casino hotel in Fife died early Thursday after tribal police used a Taser on him.

Tribal spokesman John Weymer says the man was apparently intoxicated about 2:30 a.m. when he got into a confrontation with hotel security. They called police who tried to subdue him and used a Taser on him in an upper floor hallway.

He died after he was jolted by the stun gun.

Weymer says the death is under investigation by tribal and Fife police and the FBI. Federal agents are involved because the death occurred on tribal property.
