A man is in critical condition after a fire broke out at his West Seattle home Monday.
The fire at the home in the 4000 block of 39th Avenue Southwest was called in to dispatchers shortly before 8 a.m.
With the help of a neighbor who told firefighters where the bedroom was located, firefighters were able to get a man in his 50s out of the burning home.
He was transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.
The man was the only person in the house.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
