SEATTLE — Seattle police officers arrested a man on suspicion that he attempted to lure a 16-year-old girl into a vehicle Friday morning.

The teenager reported to her principal that she had been approached by a man in a burgundy car in the 800 block of South Cloverdale Street while on her way to school.

The man driving the car attempted to talk the girl into his vehicle, but she refused and took a picture of him.

The man then drove away, and the girl notified her principal, who subsequently notified police and filed a report.

Seattle police Officer Brian Hunt and Student Officer Berat Hacibektasoglu followed up on the investigation Friday evening and after an extensive search, they identified the man in the photo taken by the student.

With the help of the King County Sheriff's Office, the officers found and arrested the suspect at 10:30 p.m. at his Burien residence.

Officers impounded the suspect's vehicle for further investigation and booked him into King County Jail for investigation of luring and stalking.
