Man armed with sawed-off shotgun robs Gig Harbor store

The suspect was wearing a red and black hooded sweatshirt, a blue bandana over his face and black pants. He fled in a beige sedan toward State Route 16.  

GIG HARBOR, Wash. — A man carrying a sawed-off shotgun held up a Gig Harbor convenience store early Thursday.

The man walked into the store in the 6600 block of Wollochet Drive at 5:24 a.m., displayed the gun and then demanded money.

After taking cash, he fled in a beige sedan toward State Route 16.

The man was wearing a red and black hooded sweatshirt, a blue bandana over his face and black pants.

Anyone with information about the robbery or the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the Gig Harbor Police Department at (253) 851-2236 and reference case number 16-1334.
