Lynnwood neighborhood hit by rash of home burglaries

LYNNWOOD, Wash. — Lynnwood police said there’s been a rash of residential burglaries in November in the Beverly Acres area around Meadowdale High School.

The most recent burglary happened this weekend.

Police say a rock or other hard object is used to break back windows, typically between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. while the homeowners are gone.

In at least one incident, a homeowner was inside, and the burglars were scared away.

Victims have reported a total of $100,000 in losses, not including damage to the windows. Items stolen include guns, jewelry and cash.

Police asked residents to leave outside lights on and for those who have surveillance cameras to make sure they’re on and recording.

Those who live in the neighborhood are asked to check their surveillance camera footage for suspicious activity.

Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to contact Det. Reorda at breorda@lynnwoodwa.gov.
