SAMMAMISH, Wash. — Firefighters helped retrieve students’ toys from an elementary school roof in Sammamish.

"While doing a building walk-through and adding new keys to lock boxes at Sunny Hills Elementary, Eastside Firefighters from Station 83 decided to do an impromptu ladder drill to help the students get some of their toys back during their recess hour," officials with Eastside Firefighters wrote Tuesday over Facebook.

Images show a variety of play and sports balls gathered in nooks along the school’s roof.

Firefighters are pictured tossing the balls down to excited, little students on the ground.
