They confiscated more than a pound of heroin and 4 pounds of crystal meth.

"This is not your mom-and-pop type drug dealer. This is someone who is a danger to society and someone that needs to be put away," said King County Sheriff's Detective Jason Stanley.

Neighbors saw a SWAT team raid a house in the 3500 block of SW 339th place in Federal Way.

They told us flash-bang grenades went off at 4 a.m.

Cash totaling $150,000 was confiscated in eight raids that also included locations in Kent, Tacoma and Seattle.

Stolen weapons were part of the haul. No one was hurt.

Stanley has been working the drug beat for 5 1/2 years.

“I feel that no place is immune to the drug problem that we are having right now,” he said.

Stanley's proud of Friday's efforts. Still, he says it's a long battle.

“I wish I could tell you this is going to make a huge difference,” he said. “Overall, though, this is just a drop in the bucket of a drug problem that's really an epidemic.”

Stanley says it was a Burien police officer who first spotted the drug ring leader back in October. That officer recently joined the drug unit and helped his new colleagues set up Friday's raids.
