It may be Seattle's hottest Pride weekend ever. Literally, we may hit 94 degrees

Thousands of people will celebrate diversity and community in an array of colorful events this weekend for Pride – and the events may be the hottest yet.

Literally that is, the temperatures will make it a scorcher of a weekend.

National Weather Service issued a Heat Advisory for Saturday afternoon to Sunday night for western parts of Snohomish, King, Pierce, and Thurston counties as well as an eastern area of Mason and Kitsap counties.

The Seattle area will hit around 90 on Saturday with warmer weather on the way for Sunday, according to KIRO 7 meteorologists.

The heat peaks on Sunday for inland areas with many locations making it into the low to mid-90s.  The Seattle area may get as high as 94 degrees.

The hottest day of the weekend will be Sunday – the same day as the big downtown Pride Parade.

For those who will be outside, make sure to practice heat safety. This means to stay hydrated and never leave kids or pets unattended in cars.

Planning on staying home? KIRO 7 will be livestreaming the entire Pride Parade this Sunday starting at 11 a.m., and we'll also have a TV replay at 11:30 p.m. Sunday night. Watch with us here.

The temperatures may be record breaking.

“The record for Seattle on Sunday is 88, set in 2006. We’re going to challenge that with highs well into the 80s and even a few 90s for select locations,” said KIRO 7 meteorologist Nick Allard.

Cooler ocean air will work in starting Sunday night into Monday, but it will still be warm around Puget Sound with highs in the low 80s. The marine push will be stronger for Tuesday bringing more cloud cover and highs around 70.”
