GREENWATER, Wash. — Pierce County detectives are investigating after mushroom pickers found a human skull near Greenwater.
The sheriff’s office said on Tuesday the skull was found in a wooded area off a Forest Service Road.

Deputies said the skull was covered in moss and appeared to have been there for a long time.
The Medical Examiner’s office is working to identify the remains.
