RENTON, Wash. — UPDATE: A 14-year-old Hazen High School student turend himself in about 6 p.m., police said. He was released to his parents, but could be charged for the threat if an investigation shows wrongdoing. The threat was intended as a prank, police said.
ORIGINAL STORY: Early Thursday morning, the Renton School District confirmed that Hazen High School would be closed Thursday after a threat was made online through social media.
Staff reported to school.
The district is working with Renton police to find the person responsible for the threat and to determine its credibility.

Unless otherwise directed by Renton police, all after-school activities and sports are running on regular schedule Thursday afternoon and evening, including school bus transportation to activities at other school districts.
Hazen will open on schedule tomorrow.
The Renton School District said there is no threat to any other school or other students in the district.
