Firefighters head to serious Renton car accident scene

RENTON, Wash. — Renton firefighters responded to a serious car accident that has 140th Avenue closed from Maple Valley Highway to Fairwood Boulevard.

Battalion chief Doug McDonald told KIRO 7 the accident was caused between two vehicles, one driven by a teenager.

The vehicle being driven by the teenager hydroplaned, lost control, and struck the other vehicle.

In all nine people were injured. The teen driver was injured critically and was taken to Harborview Medical Center. The others were taken to Valley Medical Center in Renton with more minor injuries.
